Artist-In-Residence Program The Silver Factory is accepting applications
from emerging artists who are working with photography or incorporating
photography into their finished art. Artists accepted into the program
have full use of the program facility for one month. The programs
facility enables artists to work in color, black and white and with
many alternative photographic processes. Artists may complete works
in progress or work on new projects. The following are available
to participating artists:
- A professional photographer for assistance and instruction in
techniques and equipment
- A fully equipped photography studio
- A variety of cameras and formats with which to work
- Photographic supplies (film, paper, chemistry, etc.)
- Electronic flash equipment with light modifiers
- Tungsten lighting equipment and modifiers
- Black and White darkroom
- Polaroid Emulsion and Image transfer equipment and instruction
- Hand coloring equipment and instruction
- Photography, Books and videocassette library
After completing the program artists may be asked to speak in a
public forum about their program experiences. Art created will be shown in local venues.
Participating artists are required to provide a small portfolio to the Silver Factory for
resale in support of program
activities.
Applications are accepted year round. Applicants must complete an
application, submit a
portfolio of 10-20 images, provide return postage or pickup their
portfolio and pay a fee as
follows:
Artists - $15.00
College Student (enrolled full time)- $10.00
High School Student - $5.00 (High School applicants are for one
to two week periods)
Checks payable to The Silver Factory.
No other fees apply.
Do Not Send Originals! Slides or prints are recommended. The Silver
Factory is not liable for
any damaged or lost portfolios. For delivery and pickup of portfolios
